Transformations in Geometry
Rigid Motion (Isometry)
A rigid motion is a movement of a shape that does not change its size or shape. The object only changes its position or orientation.
Examples include translation, reflection, and rotation.
Transformation
A transformation is any change in the position, size, or orientation of a shape on the coordinate plane.
It shows how a figure can move or change to produce a new image.
Enlargement
An enlargement is a transformation that changes the size of a shape but keeps its shape the same.
The object becomes either bigger or smaller depending on the scale factor.
Important Reminder to Students
Please take note of the following:

Emphasis must be placed on memorising the formulas.

Make sure you know the rotation formulas.

Practise rotation about a point, not only about the origin.

Solve at least 10 questions in your individual graph books before school reopens.
